The MUNI MP420 by M-Power is a compact, lightweight 4-gas detector designed for worker safety in hazardous locations. Fitted with four standard sensors for O2, LEL, CO and H2S, the MP420 offers 24 hours of continuous operation on a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, two-button simplicity that reduces training time, a 1,000 event data log and IP-67 ingress protection. The MUNI MP420 was built around the realities of daily industrial gas monitoring. Workers need an instrument that is comfortable to wear, simple to operate and reliable enough to trust in hazardous environments. The MP420 delivers all three in a compact housing with no moving parts, a two-button interface that requires minimal training and a battery that provides a full 24 hours of runtime without interruption.

The standard configuration covers the four most common workplace gas hazards: oxygen, combustible gas in %LEL, carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulphide. For applications with specific or additional toxic gas requirements, SO2 and HCN sensor options are available, as is a low-power infrared methane sensor that significantly extends battery runtime beyond the standard 24 hours. It is important to note that sensor configuration must be selected at the time of purchase, the MP420 sensors are not field-interchangeable as each configuration uses a unique circuit board.

Built for Compliance and Fleet Management

The MP420 stores up to 1,000 events covering gas alarms, function tests and calibrations, providing a comprehensive compliance record accessible via USB download to a PC running mPower Suite software. For organisations managing larger fleets, the optional MuniDock single-bay station (MP420T) or 4-bay CaliCase (MP342) provide semi-automated bump testing, calibration, configuration, firmware upgrades and data download with compliance certificate generation, reducing the manual effort required to keep a fleet of instruments compliant.

No. Unlike some 4-gas detectors that support field-interchangeable sensors, the MP420 sensors are fixed at the time of purchase as each sensor configuration requires a unique circuit board. If you need a different sensor combination, a new instrument with the correct configuration is required. Contact Gastech before ordering to confirm the right sensor configuration for your application.

The standard pellistor LEL sensor configuration provides 24 hours of continuous operation on a full charge. Using the optional low-power infrared methane sensor significantly extends battery runtime beyond the standard 24-hour period.

No. The lithium-ion battery pack is soldered to the circuit board and is not user-replaceable. In the event of a battery failure or end of operating life, the instrument must be returned to M-Power or an authorised service centre for battery replacement.

Two docking station options are available. The MuniDock MP420T is a single-bay station for one instrument. The CaliCase MP342 handles up to four MP420 instruments simultaneously. Both provide bump testing, calibration, configuration, firmware upgrades and data download with compliance certificate generation.

The MP420 holds IECEx, ATEX, cULus (Class I, Div 1, Groups ABCD T4), INMETRO and KCs certifications, making it suitable for use in classified hazardous locations across multiple global markets.

The standard LEL/O2/CO/H2S configuration carries a 2-year warranty including all sensors. The CH4(NDIR)/O2 lead-free/H2S/CO configuration carries a 3-year warranty.
