2 Gas

Two-Gas Detectors for Accurate Personal Monitoring

There are many industrial environments where a single gas hazard is not the only concern. A worker entering a confined space on a petrochemical site might need to monitor both hydrogen sulphide and carbon monoxide simultaneously. An operator in a water treatment facility might need visibility of both H2S and SO2 levels throughout their shift. A single gas detector covers one gas and when two hazards are present, a dedicated two-gas monitor is the more accurate and more practical solution.

The challenge with two-gas monitoring has traditionally been size and false alarm rates. Many two-gas instruments use combination sensors, a single sensor configured to detect two gases, which can produce false alarms when one gas interferes with the reading of the other. Gastech’s two-gas detector range addresses this directly.

Currently our two-gas detector range is anchored by the Tango TX2 from Industrial Scientific, the only two-gas monitor on the market that uses individual dedicated sensors for each gas rather than a combination sensor. This design means each gas is detected independently, significantly reducing the false alarm rate and improving the quality of alarm data across a fleet. The Tango TX2 is available in CO and H2S, CO and NO2, CO and SO2, H2S and SO2, H2S and NO2, H2S and NH3, and CO with H2 resistance plus a second gas, covering the most common two-gas monitoring scenarios across Australian and international industry.

Like the Tango TX1, the TX2 carries a Guaranteed for Life warranty on the instrument and runs for two years on a single replaceable battery, no charging infrastructure required, no daily battery swaps and minimal fleet management overhead.

If you need to monitor two gases and accuracy matters, the Tango TX2 is the right starting point for the conversation. Our technical team can help you confirm the right sensor combination for your application.
