Tango TX2

Two-Gas Detector

The Tango TX2 by Industrial Scientific is a two gas detector the size of a credit card, weighing less than a smartphone. Unlike other two gas monitors that rely on a combination sensor, it uses two individual sensors, which increases alarm accuracy and cuts the unnecessary shutdowns that false alarms cause. A single replaceable battery runs it for two years with no charging infrastructure needed, so each worker can be assigned their own monitor. Any two sensors can be combined from carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide, hydrogen cyanide, ammonia, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and CO H2 Low. It is the only two gas monitor carrying the Industrial Scientific Guaranteed for Life warranty.

KEY BENEFITS

  •   Only two-gas monitor on the market built with individual sensors for each gas, not combination sensors
  •   Individual sensors increase alarm accuracy and reduce unexpected project shutdowns from false alarms
  •   Two-year runtime from a single replaceable battery, no charging infrastructure required
  •   Customisable display: choose to show sensor one, sensor two or alternate between readings
  •   Guaranteed for Life warranty on the instrument

Two Gases. Individual Sensors. Fewer False Alarms.

When a site requires monitoring of two gases simultaneously, the choice of instrument matters more than most people realise. Many two-gas monitors use combination sensors, a single sensing element that attempts to detect both target gases at once. The problem is that combination sensors are more susceptible to cross-sensitivity, where the presence of one gas affects the reading of the other, leading to false alarms. Unplanned shutdowns caused by false alarms cost time, money and erode worker trust in the gas detection system itself.

The Tango TX2 takes a different approach. It uses two individual sensors, one dedicated to each gas, processed independently and displayed either alternately or on demand. Because each sensor is only responding to its own target gas, alarm accuracy is higher, false alarm rates are lower and the data collected during an alarm event is more reliable for post-incident analysis.

Simplicity at the Core

The Tango TX2 is designed for workers, not safety managers. It is the size of a credit card, weighs less than a smartphone and operates for two years on a single replaceable battery. There is no charging station to manage, no daily battery checks and no downtime for charging between shifts. The two-button interface and segment LCD display keep operation straightforward, with the display configurable to show the first sensor reading, the second sensor reading or to alternate between both every three seconds.

When any sensor goes into alarm, the display automatically alternates between readings regardless of the configured display preference, ensuring the worker always has full visibility of both gas concentrations during an alarm event.

Maintenance That Fits Into Your Operation

The Tango TX2 is compatible with Industrial Scientific’s DSX Docking Station, which automates calibration, bump testing and data upload when the instrument is docked. For organisations that prefer to eliminate fleet management entirely, the Tango TX2 is also compatible with iNet Exchange, Industrial Scientific’s gas detector subscription service that ships replacement monitors directly when needed.

Sensors are interchangeable, if you need to switch from one gas configuration to another, the Tango TX2 detects the new sensor configuration immediately upon installation.

The Tango TX2 uses two individual dedicated sensors, one for each gas, rather than a combination sensor. This reduces cross-sensitivity between gases, significantly lowering the false alarm rate and improving the accuracy and reliability of alarm data.

Any two sensors from the supported list can be combined. Available sensors include CO, CO with H2 resistance, H2S, NO2, SO2, HCN and NH3. Contact Gastech to confirm the right combination for your site.

The Tango TX1 uses DualSense Technology to monitor a single gas with two redundant sensors of the same type. The Tango TX2 monitors two different gases with one sensor dedicated to each. If you need to monitor a second gas type, the TX2 is the right instrument.

No. The Tango TX2 runs for up to two years on a single replaceable non-rechargeable battery, eliminating the need for charging infrastructure entirely.

Yes. Sensors are interchangeable and the Tango TX2 will immediately detect the new sensor configuration upon installation.

The Tango TX2 instrument is warranted for as long as it is supported by Industrial Scientific Corporation, with no defined end date. CO and H2S sensors carry a 3-year warranty. All other sensors carry a 2-year warranty. The warranty excludes sensors, batteries and filters.
