The testo DiSCmini is a handheld nanoparticle counter that measures particle number, mean diameter and Lung Deposited Surface Area in real time. It monitors human exposure to diesel soot, welding fumes and industrial nanoparticles anywhere, without solvents or radioactive sources.

KEY BENEFITS

  •   Measures particle number, mean diameter and LDSA at 1-second resolution
  •   Operates without solvents or radioactive sources
  •   Insensitive to vibration and usable in any position
  •   Battery life of up to 8 hours
  •   Saves data to a memory card and transfers via USB

Measure Nanoparticle Exposure Anywhere, in Real Time

The testo DiSCmini is the smallest instrument on the market able to measure nanoparticle number, making it ideal for mobile, on-site monitoring. Based on the electrical charging of aerosols, it reports particle number, mean particle diameter and Lung Deposited Surface Area (LDSA) with a one-second time resolution.

Because it works without solvents or radioactive radiation sources, the DiSCmini can run over extended periods in any position with no working fluid to top up. It is insensitive to vibration, so you can carry it into workplaces, city streets or research environments and trust the readings.

Typical applications include measuring personal exposure in particle-contaminated workplaces, such as diesel soot, welding fumes and industrial nanoparticles, and monitoring vulnerable groups like asthma and COPD patients. Data is saved to a memory card and transferred to a computer via USB.

With up to eight hours of battery life and a true 1 Hz measurement rate for all three parameters, the DiSCmini captures even rapid changes in aerosol concentration during fast, non-stationary measurements.

None required (no working fluid or radioactive source)

It measures the number and average diameter of nanoparticles along with Lung Deposited Surface Area (LDSA), all at a one-second time resolution.

No. It operates without solvents, working fluids or radioactive radiation sources, so it can run for extended periods with no topping up.

Common uses include measuring personal exposure to diesel soot, welding fumes and industrial nanoparticles, and monitoring ambient air in high-traffic areas or research settings.

Yes. It is insensitive to vibration and works in any position, and its small size makes it well suited to mobile, on-site measuring tasks.

Measurements are saved to a memory card and can be transferred to an external computer via USB.
