Compact Real-Time Personal Radiation Monitoring

The RAE Systems DoseRAE 2 is a compact, direct-reading and alarming electronic personal radiation detector. Using a diode and a scintillation crystal to detect X-ray and gamma radiation, it provides real-time monitoring of personal dose and dose rate for immediate reaction to radiation occurrences.

Two separate sensors give it broad coverage: an energy-compensated PIN diode handles high dose rates and accurate dose measurement, while a CsI scintillator provides fast response to low-level radiation. Integrated loud audible, bright LED and vibration alarms ensure threats are quickly noticed.

Designed in compliance with the IEEE ANSI N42.20 standard and tested at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the DoseRAE 2 offers continuous datalogging with a 3,000-point capacity that can be downloaded via USB for display, analysis and record management.

It detects X-ray and gamma radiation across an energy range of 20 keV to 6 MeV using a CsI/photodiode sensor and an energy-compensated PIN diode.

The 3,000-point datalog is downloaded via USB to a computer using the associated software for display, analysis and record management.

It uses a rechargeable LIR2450 battery that provides up to 200 hours, around one week of continuous use, per charge.

It was designed in compliance with the IEEE ANSI N42.20 standard and tested at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

It has a loud 85+ dB audible buzzer, highly visible LED lights and a built-in vibration alarm.
