The SDM-6000 by Riken Keiki is a versatile docking and calibration station designed specifically for the GX-6000 portable multi-gas monitor. It operates as a standalone device for charging, calibration and bump testing with all records automatically stored to an included SD card for later PC upload, or it connects directly to a PC for fully automated fleet management across up to 10 simultaneous stations with no manual intervention required. Modular by design, multiple SDM-6000 stations snap together without cables or tubes, sharing a single power source and calibration gas supply across the entire array.
KEY BENEFITS
- Two operating modes: standalone with SD card storage or PC-controlled for fully automated fleet management
- Modular snap-together design connects up to 10 stations without additional tubes or cables
- One power source and one set of calibration equipment serves up to 10 SDM-6000 stations simultaneously
- Automated scheduled routines power up and service GX-6000 instruments even when turned off
- All calibration and bump test records automatically stored for compliance and audit purposes

Standalone Simplicity or Fully Automated Fleet Management
The SDM-6000 is designed for two types of GX-6000 users. The first is the operator who needs a simple, reliable station for charging, calibrating and bump testing individual instruments — no PC required, just connect the gas, dock the instrument and the SDM-6000 handles the rest. All records are stored automatically to an included SD card for later PC upload using the included software.
The second is the safety manager running a fleet of GX-6000 instruments who needs automated, scheduled fleet management without manual intervention. Up to 10 SDM-6000 stations connect to a single PC using USB cables and the SDM-6000 PC Controller software manages charging, calibration, bump testing and data archiving for all instruments simultaneously. Automated routines will even power up instruments that are turned off when a scheduled service routine runs, ensuring the fleet is always ready without relying on operators to initiate the process.
Modular Design for Scalable Fleet Operations
The SDM-6000’s modular design is its standout feature for larger fleet operations. Stations snap together without any additional tubes or cables. One power source and one set of calibration equipment, gas cylinders and regulators, serves the entire array of up to 10 connected stations. There is no need to run separate gas lines or power cables to each individual station. For sites running multiple GX-6000 instruments, this dramatically simplifies the physical setup and reduces the cost of the calibration infrastructure.
Centralised Compliance Record Management
All data collected from PC-controlled SDM-6000 stations can be centralised in a single network location accessible by anyone with the PC Controller software and network access. This means compliance records from instruments serviced at different stations or different locations can be reviewed from one central point, simplifying audit preparation and compliance reporting without manual data consolidation.

In standalone mode the SDM-6000 operates independently without a PC, storing all calibration and bump test records to an included SD card for later upload using the included software. In PC-controlled mode up to 10 stations connect to a single PC for fully automated scheduling, archiving and centralised data management across the entire fleet.
Up to 10 SDM-6000 stations can be connected in a modular array using the snap-together design, sharing one power source and one set of calibration gas equipment across all stations.
Yes. In PC-controlled mode, automated routines will power up GX-6000 instruments that are turned off when a scheduled service routine runs.
Yes. In PC-controlled mode, all data is stored in a centralised data file on a network location accessible by anyone with the PC Controller software and network access — useful for multi-site operations or teams that need shared visibility of fleet compliance records.
No. The SDM-6000 is designed exclusively for the GX-6000 multi-gas monitor. For GX-3R and GX-3R Pro instruments, the SDM-3R is the compatible docking station.
No. The SDM-6000 is rated for use in non-hazardous locations only. GX-6000 instruments should be brought to a safe area for calibration and bump testing before deployment.
