VDP 2

Vibrating Diaphragm Sample Pump

The VDP 2 is Gastech’s own sample draw pump, for installations where a sensor cannot be mounted where the gas is. It draws a sample from a shaft, pit, duct or enclosure back to the detector at up to 2 litres per minute, and an integrated flow meter shows at a glance that it is actually drawing. Built from the same anti-static, weather and chemical proof nylon as the D-Guard² transmitters.

KEY BENEFITS

  •   Brings the gas to the detector where a sensor cannot be mounted
  •   Vibrating diaphragm design gives continuous reliable service with no rotating parts to wear
  •   Integrated flow meter confirms the pump is drawing rather than assuming it
  •   Same anti-static, weather and chemical proof nylon housing as the D-Guard² transmitters
  •   Compatible with all associated Gastech gas sensor types

Some detection points cannot take a detector. A deep shaft, a sump, a duct, a wellhead, or an enclosure that runs too hot or sits somewhere nobody should be climbing to. Sample draw is the answer, and it works by bringing the gas to the instrument instead of the other way round.

The VDP 2 uses a vibrating diaphragm rather than a motorised pump head, which is what gives it continuous reliable service without the wear of rotating parts. Standard flow rate is 0 to 2 litres per minute.

The integrated flow meter matters more than it sounds. A sample draw system that has stopped drawing looks exactly like clean air at the detector, so being able to see flow at the pump is the difference between monitoring and assuming.
