BW Clip4
Wearable Four Gas Detector
The Honeywell BW Clip4 is a wearable four gas detector with a two year runtime and no charging or battery changes. It monitors O2, CO, H2S and combustible gas, using an NDIR sensor for the LEL channel. Real time gas readings, IP68 protection and IntelliDoX compatibility make it simple to wear and easy to manage across a fleet.
KEY BENEFITS
- Two years of runtime with no charging or sensor changes
- NDIR LEL sensor draws far less power than catalytic bead sensors
- Low cost of ownership with no battery or sensor changes
- Compact and lightweight design that does not weigh you down
- Simple one button operation

Two years of runtime, no charging
Once activated, the BW Clip4 runs continuously for two years. There’s no charging, no battery replacement and no sensor changes. Workers clip it on and it’s ready for the shift.
The combustible sensor uses NDIR (non dispersive infrared) technology rather than a catalytic bead. NDIR draws far less power, which is what makes a two year runtime possible in a wearable detector.
Clear readings, simple operation
One button runs the detector. The LCD shows real time gas concentrations as numbers, with status icons for alarms, overdue tests and faults. Visual, vibrating and 95 dB audible alarms make an alarm obvious straight away. A built in protective boot and IP68 rating help it handle drops, dust and water.
Bump testing and calibration still apply
A two year runtime doesn’t remove the need for bump testing. Honeywell recommends a bump test before each day’s use, and after an impact, liquid immersion, an over limit alarm or a change of user. Calibration is recommended at least every 180 days. Follow your site procedures and the relevant Australian standard.
The detector helps you stay on schedule. It runs a self test of its sensors, battery and circuitry every 24 hours, and shows an overdue indicator when a bump test or calibration is due.
Fleet management with IntelliDoX
Dock the BW Clip4 in an IntelliDoX station for automated bump tests, calibration and record keeping. Data transfers to your computer for compliance tracking and device configuration.

The BW Clip4 uses a low power NDIR sensor for combustible gas instead of a catalytic bead. Catalytic bead sensors draw significant power because they heat their beads. Honeywell states the NDIR sensor draws thousands of times less power, which lets the detector run for two years without charging.
There's no charging, battery replacement or sensor replacement during its two year life. Bump testing and calibration still apply. Honeywell recommends a bump test before each day's use and calibration at least every 180 days.
At the end of its two-year operating life the BW Clip4 is replaced with a new unit. The display shows the remaining lifetime in months, then days, and shows a warning when less than 24 hours remain.
The BW Clip4 displays a flashing red non-compliance indicator when the instrument has not been bump tested within the scheduled interval. This provides visible compliance confirmation for workers and supervisors without requiring manual record checking.
Yes. The BW Clip4 is compatible with the IntelliDoX instrument management system for automated bump testing, calibration and data download.
No. Honeywell notes the BW Clip4 won't detect some combustible gases, including hydrogen and acetylene. Talk to our Technical Consultants about a detector that suits your gas
