Multi Gas Clip Simple

Two Year Four Gas Detector

The Multi Gas Clip Simple by Gas Clip Technologies is a four gas detector that runs continuously for two years with no charging. Routine calibration isn’t necessary, which saves test gas and downtime. Its low power infrared LEL sensor is immune to sensor poisons and doesn’t need oxygen to detect gas, and it monitors H2S, CO, O2 and LEL from the moment it’s activated.

KEY BENEFITS

  •   Two years of continuous operation with no charging required
  •   Routine calibration isn't necessary, saving test gas and downtime

Turn It On and Leave It On

The Multi Gas Clip Simple runs continuously for two years from the moment it’s activated. There’s no charging, no battery to change and no sensors to replace. Workers clip it on and it’s ready to go.

Routine calibration isn’t necessary either. Each detector is charged and calibrated during manufacturing, so it’s ready to use out of the box. That saves test gas, time and downtime across a fleet.

Low Power Infrared Is The Key

The two year runtime comes from Gas Clip Technologies’ low power photometric infrared sensor for combustible gas. Catalytic bead sensors draw far more power and can be poisoned by silicones, lead compounds and other contaminants. The infrared sensor is immune to those poisons.

It also doesn’t need oxygen to detect combustible gas, unlike a catalytic bead. That makes it reliable in oxygen deficient atmospheres where a catalytic sensor can under read.

Bump Testing Still Applies

A two year detector still needs to be checked. Gas Clip Technologies advises a bump test before each day’s use, to confirm the sensors and alarms respond to gas.

If a bump test fails, or if the sensors may have been exposed to poisons, the detector can be calibrated. It also has an optional calibration interval that reminds the user when calibration is due.

Clear Information, Simple Operation

One button runs the detector. The large LCD shows live readings for all four gases, plus the months of life remaining. In the final 30 days, it switches to a countdown in days.

When an alarm goes off, it’s hard to miss. There’s a buzzer of at least 95 dB, vibration, four red alarm bar LEDs and a red backlight. A yellow LED flags when maintenance such as a bump test is due.

Built To Last

The Multi Gas Clip Simple weighs 220 g and is rated IP68 for dust and water. It runs a full self test on activation, then checks its sensors, battery and circuitry continuously.

Docking, Records and Remote Sampling

The MGC Simple Clip Dock bump tests, calibrates and programs up to four detectors at once, and keeps the records. It comes as a portable or wall mount dock.

The GCT IR Link connects a single detector to a PC for firmware updates, settings and data downloads. The detector logs data at one second intervals, with a typical capacity of more than two months. It stores the last 50 bump tests, 50 events and 50 calibrations.

For confined space pre entry testing, the Gas Clip external pump draws samples from up to 23 metres away. A hand aspirator kit and remote sampling probe are also available.

Routine calibration isn't necessary. Each detector is calibrated during manufacturing. Gas Clip Technologies advises a bump test before each day's use. If a bump test fails or the sensors may have been exposed to poisons, the detector can be calibrated.

Catalytic bead sensors can be poisoned by silicones, solvents, lead compounds and other common industrial contaminants, reducing sensitivity over time. The infrared sensor detects combustible gas through optical measurement rather than a chemical reaction, making it immune to these poisoning effects and more reliable over a long operating life.

The display counts down the months of life remaining. When fewer than 30 days remain, it switches to a countdown in days. At the end of its 24 month life, the detector is replaced.

Yes. The optional Gas Clip Technologies external pump accessory attaches to any Gas Clip diffusion detector and draws samples from up to 23 metres away at greater than one foot per second flow rate.

Both use the same infrared LEL sensor, the same docks and accessories, and need no charging.
