Testo Sensor LD Pro & LD Pro+

Ultrasonic Leak Detector

The Testo Sensor LD Pro and LD Pro+ are professional ultrasonic leak detectors for compressed air, gas, steam, vacuum and refrigeration systems. Both use a 40 kHz ultrasonic sensor to detect leaks as small as 0.1 l/min at 6 bar from 5 metres away, with an integrated camera, automatic sensitivity adjustment, 9-hour battery and direct display of leakage rate and annual cost. The LD Pro+ adds automatic laser distance measurement for more precise leak location and more accurate cost calculation, with Testo Leak Reporter software included and USB stick data export. Both models create ISO 50001 compliant leak reports.

KEY BENEFITS

  •   Detects leaks as small as 0.1 l/min at 6 bar from 5 metres away, finds leaks invisible and inaudible under normal conditions
  •   Integrated camera displays and stores leak location images directly on the instrument
  •   Direct display of leakage rate in l/min and annual cost, identify the most expensive leaks immediately
  •   Automatic sensitivity adjustment reliably blocks ambient noise for accurate detection in noisy industrial environments
  •   9 hours of continuous operation from the internal Li-ion battery, recharged in about 4 hours

Find the Leaks You Can’t Hear

Gas escaping from leaks in pipe systems, through corrosion or loose fittings, makes noise in the ultrasonic range. Most of these leaks can’t be heard or seen. Compressed air leaks in particular are paid for but never used.

The Testo Sensor LD Pro and LD Pro+ find them from several metres away. They detect leaks as small as 0.1 l/min at 6 bar from 5 metres, and convert the inaudible ultrasound into sounds the operator can hear through the supplied sound proof headphones.

Auto level adjusts the sensitivity to the surroundings and blocks out ambient noise. That makes both instruments reliable in loud production areas.

LD Pro or LD Pro+?

Both models share the same 40 kHz ultrasonic sensor, integrated camera, 3.5 inch touchscreen, 9 hour battery and auto level noise suppression. The difference is how precisely the cost of a leak is calculated, and how reports are created.

The LD Pro uses an integrated laser pointer as a sighter to mark the leak in the camera image. Leak data transfers to a PC over USB for reporting in Testo Leak Software, which is ordered separately. It’s the right choice for professional leak detection with photo records at a lower entry cost.

The LD Pro+ adds automatic laser distance measurement. It measures the distance to the leak, so the leak rate and annual cost are calculated more precisely. The reporting software is included. For sites running structured energy management programs or preparing ISO 50001 audit documentation, the Pro+ gives a more streamlined workflow.

See the Leak. Know the Cost.

Both instruments show the leakage rate in l/min and the annual cost directly on the touchscreen, next to the camera image of the leak. Operators know straight away what a leak is costing, so repairs can be prioritised by cost, not just leak size. The units and currency can be adjusted.

Leak data exports to the Testo software for ISO 50001 reporting. Each report includes the leak location image, date and time, company, department or machine, the leak size and annual cost, plus an overview of total leakage and total cost.

Where They’re Used

Both models detect leaks in compressed air systems, gas pipework, steam systems, vacuum systems and refrigeration equipment. They’re also used to check door seals. They detect the ultrasound from escaping gas, so they aren’t gas specific and don’t measure gas concentration.

Both meet the requirements for class 1 instruments in the ASTM E1002-05 standard test method for leaks using ultrasonics.

The LD Pro uses an integrated laser pointer as a sighter, with Testo Leak Software ordered separately. The LD Pro+ adds automatic laser distance measurement for more precise leak rate and cost calculation, and includes the reporting software. Both share the same sensor, camera, touchscreen, battery and 2 GB data storage.

Both detect leaks in compressed air systems, gas pipework, steam systems, vacuum systems, refrigeration equipment and door seals, wherever escaping gas makes ultrasonic noise. They aren't gas specific and don't measure gas concentration.

Both detect leaks as small as 0.1 l/min at 6 bar pressure from 5 metres distance.

Both include automatic sensitivity adjustment that reliably blocks ambient sounds. Sound-proof headphones are supplied for additional noise isolation in particularly loud environments.

The software creates ISO 50001 compliant leak reports documenting each detected leak with image, location, date, leak rate and annual cost. Testo Leak Software is for the LD Pro (ordered separately). Testo Leak Reporter is included with the LD Pro+.

Both meet ASTM International E1002-05 Class 1 requirements for the standard test method for leaks using ultrasonics.
