Simple, accurate diesel smoke opacity measurement
The Model 6500 smoke opacity meter provides a simple and accurate means of detecting and measuring the opacity of smoke being emitted by a diesel engine. By making testing easy it encourages proper maintenance for improved fuel economy and protection of the environment.
Designed to meet or exceed all the specifications required in SAE J1667, this easy to use meter is used by fleets, regulatory agencies and OEM laboratories around the world. Custom designed circuitry assures high reliability without noise interference or fluctuations across ambient temperatures, delivering accuracy to within 1% in both artificial and direct lighting.
The 6500 allows testing in both snap-idle and follow modes, in either raw or filtered data, and stores up to 100 tests. It is available with full flow or partial flow sensor heads that share the same transmitter and receiver and can be easily interchanged, with expanded yokes allowing readings up to 24″ stacks. Although this product is no longer available for sale, it remains supported by Gastech Technical Services and Support.
