The RI-415 is a portable NDIR hydrocarbon or methane detector that accurately measures gas levels even in nitrogen and inert environments. With auto-ranging from 0-100% LEL to 0-100% Volume, it features explosion-proof and intrinsically safe construction.
KEY BENEFITS
- Measures from higher concentrations (vol%) down to lower concentrations (%LEL)
- Reliable NDIR method works in N2 and inert gas atmospheres
- Explosion-proof detector with intrinsically safe circuit and pump
- Automatic ranging between 0-100% LEL and 0-100% Volume
- Indication accuracy within +/-5% of reading

Reliable infrared HC and methane detection in inert atmospheres
The RI-415 is a portable HC or CH4 detector. Its NDIR sensor style provides accurate detection of hydrocarbon or methane gas levels even in nitrogen and inert environments where catalytic sensors cannot operate.
The measuring ranges are 0-100% Volume and 0-100% LEL with automatic ranging, so the instrument switches range as concentrations change. Explosion-proof and intrinsically safe construction means it can be used safely in demanding environments.
Typical applications include measuring gas concentrations in the tanks of LNG and LPG carriers and in crude oil tankers, with a built-in pump and coiled sampling hose for remote sampling.

The NDIR (non-dispersive infrared) sensor accurately detects HC or CH4 even in nitrogen and inert environments, where catalytic combustion sensors would not function.
The RI-415 measures 0-100% LEL and 0-100% Volume with automatic ranging, so it covers both low and high concentrations.
Yes. The detector is explosion proof, and the other electrical circuitry and pump use an intrinsically safe design, so it can be used safely in demanding environments.
It is used to measure gas concentrations in the tanks of LNG and LPG carriers and in crude oil tankers.
It offers approximately 50 hours of continuous operation on four C-size alkaline dry cells, with optional Ni-Cad batteries available.
