The GX-3R Pro by Riken Keiki is the world’s smallest and lightest five gas monitor, weighing around 120 g and small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. It builds on the GX-3R four gas platform with a fifth channel for a toxic or infrared sensor, alongside LEL, O2, CO and H2S. Bluetooth connects it to the free RK Link app, and Man Down and panic alarms add extra protection for workers in hazardous areas.

The GX-3R Pro takes everything that makes the GX-3R one of the world’s smallest four gas monitors and adds a fifth sensor channel. The result is the world’s smallest and lightest five gas monitor.
At around 120 g and 73 x 65 x 26 mm, it fits in the palm of the hand. It clips to a collar or anywhere in the breathing zone and stays comfortable for a full shift.
Flexible Sensor Options
Alongside LEL, O2, CO and H2S, the fifth channel takes a toxic or infrared sensor: HCN, NH3, NO2, PH3, SO2 or CO2. Two of the sensor slots have interchangeable sensors that can be swapped in the field, so the GX-3R Pro can be set up for different jobs and hazards.
Riken Keiki’s new R series sensors give improved performance and long term stability. A hydrogen resistant CO sensor is also available, for sites such as steel plants where hydrogen can interfere with CO readings.
Bluetooth and Smartphone Integration
The GX-3R Pro uses Bluetooth Low Energy to send live gas readings to the free RK Link app on iOS and Android. Automatic notifications can be set up to send texts or emails when there’s a gas alarm, fault alarm or Man Down alarm.
Safety managers get immediate notice of an incident, even when they’re not on site. It’s a practical connected option for sites that don’t need a full cellular system but still want remote alarm notification.
Man Down, Panic and Compliance Alarms
The Man Down alarm triggers a pre alarm if the instrument stays still for a set time, then a full alarm if it isn’t cancelled. Workers can also raise a panic alarm at any time by tapping the instrument twice.
Three alarm levels can be set. One of them can be set to the IDLH concentration, giving workers a clear warning before a life threatening level is reached.
The non compliance indicator flashes the three LEDs at 30 second intervals when a bump test is overdue, calibration is due or a gas alarm has occurred. It keeps flashing until the issue is resolved, and the interval is adjustable. A tick on screen confirms a bump test has been completed.
Long Runtime and Rugged Build
The GX-3R Pro runs for around 25 hours on its lithium ion battery, which fully charges in about 3 hours. In long battery mode, runtime extends to around 40 hours, depending on the sensors fitted. An alkaline battery unit is also available.
It’s rated IP66/68, resists drops from up to 7 metres and works from -40°C to 60°C. Fitted with the optional RP-3R clip on pump, it becomes a pumped detector for confined space sampling, with two suction settings. The SDM-3R docking station automates bump tests and calibration.

The GX-3R is a four gas monitor for LEL, O2, CO and H2S. The GX-3R Pro adds a fifth channel for a toxic or infrared sensor, plus Bluetooth, a Man Down alarm and a panic alarm. The GX-3R Pro is slightly larger, at around 120 g compared with around 100 g for the GX-3R.

Long battery mode extends the GX-3R Pro's runtime from around 25 hours to around 40 hours on a full charge, depending on the sensors fitted. It's useful for extended shifts or multi day work where recharging isn't practical.
Yes. The optional RP-3R clip on sampling pump turns the GX-3R Pro into a pumped detector for confined space pre entry testing. It has two adjustable suction settings.
The GX-3R Pro carries a three year warranty on the instrument and sensors, except the NH3 sensor, which has a one year warranty. Riken Keiki's warranty is on condition that the instrument is maintained at least once a year.
