The SharpEye 40/40L combines UV and IR sensors, with the IR sensor operating at 2.5-3.0 um to detect hydrocarbon fuel and gas fires, hydroxyl and hydrogen fires, and metal and inorganic fires. High-speed dual-sensor logic delivers detection with strong immunity to false alarms.

Dual UV/IR sensing with high-speed response
Model 40/40L (and LB, with Built-In-Test option) provides a combination of UV and IR sensors, where the IR sensor operates at a wavelength of 2.5-3.0 um and can detect hydrocarbon-based fuel and gas fires, hydroxyl and hydrogen fires, as well as metal and inorganic fires.
Model 40/40L4 (and L4B) is identical to the 40/40L except that the IR sensor works at 4.5 um and is suited to hydrocarbon-based fires. The detector senses radiant energy in the short-wave section of both the ultraviolet and infrared spectrum, analysing frequency, intensity and duration, and triggering an alarm only on simultaneous UV and IR detection.
A special UV logic circuit helps prevent false alarms caused by solar radiation, while a heated window, 5-year warranty and SIL2 approval make the detector a robust choice for critical applications.

It triggers an alarm only on simultaneous UV and IR detection, and the UV sensor includes a special logic circuit that helps prevent false alarms from solar radiation.

The B versions add the Built-In-Test option for automatic and manual self-testing to assure continued reliable operation.
