Automatic Calibration System for RAE Gas Detectors
The AutoRAE 2 by Honeywell is an automatic test and calibration system for RAE Systems portable gas monitors that makes compliance as easy as pressing a button. Cradle the monitor and the system takes care of bump testing, calibration and battery charging. It can be as simple as a single standalone cradle for one instrument, with no computer needed, or a networked controller based system supporting up to 10 cradles and 5 calibration gases or gas mixtures.

Calibration Compliance at the Press of a Button
The AutoRAE 2 makes instrument testing and calibration compliance as easy as pressing a button. Dock a compatible RAE Systems monitor, and the system takes care of bump testing, calibration and battery charging.
It’s flexible and modular, so it can be set up to suit your calibration and record keeping needs, from a single cradle at a field site to a networked system for a large fleet.
Standalone Cradle
In its simplest form, the AutoRAE 2 is a single cradle deployed in standalone mode, testing and calibrating one instrument at a time. It doesn’t need a computer to operate, which makes it well suited to field use.
A standalone cradle has two buttons, Bump and Cal, and tri colour LEDs to show the result. It connects to a PC over USB for data and configuration, and it can print results directly to a serial (RS-232) printer.
Controller Based System for Larger Fleets
For larger fleets, the AutoRAE 2 controller supports up to 10 cradles, in any mix and any order. Up to 5 distinct calibration gases or gas mixtures can be connected at the same time, so instruments with complex sensor setups can be calibrated without swapping cylinders.
The controller has a 5.7 inch colour LCD, a built in pump and a 2 GB SD card with a security lock, which records instrument datalogs automatically. It connects to a network through an RJ-45 Ethernet port or an optional Wi-Fi module, and it’s configured through ProRAE Studio II software, over the network if needed.
Firmware Updates
The AutoRAE 2 itself is firmware upgradeable, to protect your investment. It also has an optional automatic instrument firmware update function, keeping compatible RAE Systems monitors current when they’re docked.
Compatible Instruments
AutoRAE 2 cradles are available for the ToxiRAE Pro family (ToxiRAE Pro, ToxiRAE Pro LEL, ToxiRAE Pro PID and ToxiRAE Pro CO2), the QRAE 3 and pumped MultiRAE models (MultiRAE, MultiRAE Pro and the pumped MultiRAE Lite). One cradle type covers all ToxiRAE Pro models, using the included adapters. The diffusion MultiRAE Lite isn’t supported.
The controller and cradles can sit on a bench or mount on a wall using a standard TS35 DIN rail.

No. A standalone cradle tests and calibrates without a PC. It doesn't store data itself, so results are transferred to a PC over USB, or printed on a serial printer. In a controller based system, the controller records datalogs to its 2 GB SD card. ProRAE Studio II software is used for configuration.
The controller-based system supports up to 10 cradles simultaneously in any mix or order. Each cradle handles one instrument at a time. The standalone cradle (without a controller) supports one instrument only.
The pumped version of the MultiRAE Lite is compatible. The diffusion version is not supported.
