GP-03

Combustible Gas Monitor

The GP-03 by RKI Instruments is one of the world’s smallest and lightest combustible gas monitors, offering personal protection from exposure to combustible hydrocarbons in hazardous locations. Weighing just 80 grams and small enough to fit in a shirt pocket, the GP-03 delivers up to 35 hours of continuous operation on standard alkaline batteries, with audible, visual and vibration alarms, Peak Hold, STEL and TWA monitoring, and data logging as standard. Intrinsically safe with ATEX, IECEx and CSA certifications, the GP-03 provides affordable, reliable combustible gas protection without bulk or compromise.

KEY BENEFITS

  •   Pocket-sized personal combustible gas monitor at just 80 grams
  •   Up to 35 hours continuous operation on alkaline batteries, or 30 hours on Ni-MH rechargeable
  •   Audible, visual and vibration alarms as standard
  •   Peak Hold, STEL and TWA monitoring included
  •   Data logging from 5 hours to 300 hours with adjustable intervals

Small Enough to Forget You’re Wearing It. Reliable Enough to Trust With Your Life.

Personal gas protection in hazardous areas should not require workers to carry bulky, expensive equipment. The GP-03 was designed with that in mind. At just 80 grams and pocket-sized at 54 x 67 x 24 mm, it is one of the smallest and lightest combustible gas monitors available, providing genuine personal protection without getting in the way of the work.

The GP-03 uses a catalytic combustion sensor to continuously monitor for combustible hydrocarbons across a 0 to 100% LEL range. Two preset alarm set points, factory set at 10% LEL and 50% LEL, are fully user-adjustable to suit site-specific requirements. An OVER alarm triggers at 100% LEL, and all alarm events are communicated through a combination of flashing LEDs, an intermittent buzzer and vibration, ensuring the warning is received even in noisy environments or when the instrument is in a pocket.

Long Runtime, Low Maintenance

The GP-03 operates for up to 35 hours on two standard AAA alkaline batteries, or 30 hours on rechargeable Ni-MH cells. The replaceable LEL sensor has a life expectancy of over 2 years and is interchangeable with sensors used in RKI’s GX-2009 and GX-2012 instruments, keeping fleet management and spare parts stocking straightforward. The sensor is field-replaceable without tools.

Data Logging and Compliance

The GP-03 logs gas readings, alarm events, alarm trends, calibration and bump test history, and instrument settings. The logging interval is adjustable from 10 seconds to 10 minutes, providing between 5 and 300 hours of data storage depending on the interval selected. Data can be downloaded to a PC using the included data logging software for compliance reporting and incident investigation.

Built for Hazardous Locations

The GP-03 is impact, dust and water resistant with an IP67 rating, and is classified as intrinsically safe by ATEX, IECEx and CSA for Class I, Division 1, Groups A, B, C and D atmospheres. The replaceable rubber protective boot provides additional impact protection in demanding environments.
