H2S Data Logger
Data Logger for Sewer Monitoring
The GHS-8AT-EX by Gastec is a hydrogen sulphide data logger purpose built for continuous monitoring in sewer systems and other environments prone to H2S generation. Corrosive hydrogen sulphide can cause significant damage to sewer infrastructure, generate offensive odours and damage surrounding buildings and facilities over time. The GHS-8AT-EX provides ongoing monitoring of H2S concentration, helping operators track corrosion risk and identify the source of odour problems before they escalate.
KEY BENEFITS
- Large display screen shows concentration, temperature and remaining battery capacity
- Notifies the user when the sensor needs calibration
- Recording switch allows free selection of start and end points for data logging
- Small and lightweight design
- Outer case easily removed for replacement

Continuous H2S Monitoring for Sewer and Wastewater Environments
Hydrogen sulphide is a persistent problem in sewer systems and wastewater infrastructure. When corrosive H2S gas accumulates, it causes rust and structural deterioration within the sewer itself, generates offensive odours that escape to the surface, and in severe cases causes significant damage to nearby buildings and facilities. The GHS-8AT-EX was developed specifically to address this challenge, providing continuous, reliable H2S monitoring to help operators stay ahead of corrosion and odour issues before they become major problems.
Built for Long-Term Unattended Deployment
The GHS-8AT-EX is designed to be deployed in sewer environments for extended periods, recording concentration and temperature data continuously. Even at a 1-minute logging interval, the instrument can store up to one month of data. Two AA batteries provide approximately 90 days of continuous operation under normal conditions, making it well suited to long-term unattended monitoring programs.
Interchangeable Sensors for Different Applications
Gastec offers five different hydrogen sulphide sensor modules for the GHS-8AT-EX, with measuring ranges from 0 to 10 ppm through to 0 to 3000 ppm. The sensors are interchangeable, allowing the same data logger to be configured for a wide range of measurement applications depending on the expected concentration at the monitoring location.
Built to Survive Harsh Sewer Conditions
With an enhanced IP66/67 rating for water and corrosion resistance, the GHS-8AT-EX is built specifically to handle the demanding conditions found inside sewer systems. The unit is designed to float on water, an important consideration given the environments it is typically deployed in. The outer case can be easily removed for sensor replacement or maintenance, keeping ongoing servicing straightforward.
Simple Data Retrieval and Analysis
Once a monitoring period is complete, the GHS-8AT-EX connects to a PC via USB cable to download logged data. Using Gastec’s dedicated ANASYS software, this data can be displayed graphically or exported as a text file for further analysis, supporting investigations into odour sources, corrosion patterns and overall sewer system performance.
