The GX-6000 by Riken Keiki is a versatile handheld 6-gas detector with an internal sample draw pump, capable of simultaneously monitoring the four standard confined space gases alongside PID, infrared and super toxic sensor options in two interchangeable smart sensor slots. The first and only multi-gas instrument that supports two simultaneous PID sensors, the GX-6000 can combine a broad-range 10.6 eV PID sensor with a benzene-specific 10.0 eV sensor for general VOC detection and targeted benzene analysis in a single instrument, without any equipment changes between applications. With a library of over 600 VOCs, six operating modes, Man Down and panic alarms, an LED flashlight, a 100-foot sample draw capability and IP67 ingress protection, the GX-6000 is one of the most capable multi-gas instruments available for sampling, permitting, HazMat response and confined space work.

The Most Versatile 6-Gas Instrument on the Market.
The GX-6000 was designed for applications where a standard 4-gas monitor is not enough and a single-purpose PID instrument is too limited. With four fixed sensor channels for the standard confined space gases and two interchangeable smart sensor slots that auto-recognise PID, infrared and toxic sensor changes, the GX-6000 adapts to the application rather than forcing operators to carry multiple instruments.
What sets the GX-6000 apart from any other multi-gas instrument is its support for two simultaneous PID sensors – an industry first. A 10.6 eV broad-range PID sensor can be combined with a 10.0 eV benzene-specific sensor. Giving operators both general VOC screening across 600 compounds and targeted benzene analysis at the same time, without swapping instruments or sensor configurations between tasks. A 11.7 eV PID lamp is also available, the first and only option of its kind in a multi-gas instrument, for gases with high ionisation energies including carbon tetrachloride, refrigerants, chloroform and methanol.
Six Operating Modes for Multiple Applications
The GX-6000 operates in six modes: normal, leak check (PPM range combustibles detection), inert, snap log, bar hole and bar hole snap. This breadth of operating modes, combined with the instrument’s sensor flexibility, positions the GX-6000 as a single tool for confined space entry, hazmat response, arson investigation, remediation, perimeter monitoring, leak detection and landfill monitoring – applications that would typically require separate instruments.
Built for the Field
The internal sample draw pump sustains a flow rate of 0.45 LPM through sample hoses from 3 feet up to 100 feet, allowing pre-entry atmosphere testing from a safe distance. The IP67-rated housing with removable impact-resistant rubber boot handles demanding outdoor and industrial environments. Five bright LEDs on three sides of the instrument ensure alarms are visible from every angle. An LED flashlight is built into the unit for dark or confined environments. Auto display rotation adjusts the screen orientation to match how the instrument is being held. Nine language options including Japanese, Korean and Russian support international deployment.
SDM-6000 Calibration Station
The optional SDM-6000 calibration station is purpose-built for the GX-6000, managing calibration, bump testing, alarm checking, datalogging download and firmware updates – standalone or PC-controlled for fleet-level management across multiple instruments.

The GX-6000 is the first and only multi-gas instrument to support two simultaneous PID sensors, allowing operators to combine general VOC screening with targeted benzene analysis in a single instrument without any sensor or equipment changes. It also offers a unique 11.7 eV PID lamp option for high ionisation energy gases not detectable by standard 10.6 eV lamps.
The 11.7 eV lamp detects gases with higher ionisation energies that cannot be detected by the standard 10.6 eV lamp, including carbon tetrachloride, refrigerants (R-143, R-132A), chloroform, acrylonitrile and methanol. The GX-6000 is the first and only multi-gas instrument to offer this lamp option.
The internal pump maintains a flow rate of 0.45 LPM through standard sample hoses up to 100 feet (30 metres). Hoses are available in 5-foot increments from the standard 3-foot hose up to 100 feet.
The GX-6000 operates in normal mode for standard gas monitoring, leak check mode for PPM-range combustibles detection, inert mode for oxygen-deficient environments, snap log mode for on-demand data logging, bar hole mode and bar hole snap mode for pipeline and infrastructure monitoring.
The GX-6000 carries a 2-year warranty including sensors. Cl2 and PID sensors (10.6 eV and 10.0 eV) carry a 1-year warranty. The 11.7 eV PID lamp carries a 2-month warranty.
The SDM-6000 calibration station is purpose-built for the GX-6000, managing calibration, bump testing, alarm checking, data download and firmware updates. It can be used standalone or PC-controlled for fleet-level management.
