iBrid MX6
Portable 6-Gas Monitor
The iBrid MX6 by Industrial Scientific is the most adaptable 6-gas monitor on the market. With 24 sensor options, hundreds of possible sensor combinations, an optional internal motorised pump with 30-metre sample draw capability and an optional benzene detection kit, the MX6 iBrid adapts to virtually any gas monitoring application. It is the first gas monitor to feature a full-colour LCD display, improving readability in all lighting conditions from underground mines to outdoor worksites. Compatible with the DSXi Docking Station and iNet Exchange for hassle-free maintenance and fleet management, the MX6 iBrid is a trusted instrument for sampling, permitting and advanced multi-gas detection across oil and gas, petrochemical, mining and industrial applications.
KEY BENEFITS
- 24 sensor options with hundreds of possible combinations, so the instrument adapts to the application rather than the other way around
- Infrared sensor options work in oxygen-deficient atmospheres where catalytic bead sensors cannot, keeping combustible gas detection accurate in low-O2 environments
- Optional benzene detection kit with SP6 pump and PID sensor for accurate benzene pre-screening without a separate instrument
- Full-colour LCD display clearly visible in all lighting conditions: underground, outdoors or in bright industrial facilities
- Optional internal motorised pump with 30-metre sample draw for confined space pre-entry sampling

The Most Adaptable 6-Gas Monitor on the Market.
Most multi-gas monitors are configured once and used in one application. The MX6 iBrid was designed to change as the work changes. With 24 plug-and-play field-replaceable sensor options and hundreds of possible combinations across up to 6 simultaneous gas measurements, the MX6 iBrid can be reconfigured in the field to meet the requirements of different sites, different tasks and different hazard profiles, without returning the instrument for service or purchasing a new unit.
The sensor library covers catalytic bead LEL (methane and pentane), infrared LEL and methane to 100% volume, CO2, electrochemical toxic gases, and PID for VOC detection including benzene pre-screening with the optional convertible kit. An important operational note: the catalytic bead combustible gas sensor requires a minimum of 10% oxygen to provide an accurate reading. In any situation where oxygen reads below 10%, the catalytic combustible reading must be considered unreliable. The infrared sensors do not rely on oxygen and function accurately in oxygen-deficient atmospheres, making them the correct choice for inert gas and oxygen-depleted environments.
The First Gas Monitor With a Full-Colour LCD
The MX6 iBrid introduced full-colour LCD display technology to gas detection, providing significantly better readability than monochrome displays across a wide range of lighting conditions. Combined with the five way navigation button and menu driven interface, the MX6 iBrid is straightforward to operate and configure in the field. On-board graphing provides a visual trend of gas readings over time, giving operators a more complete picture of the gas environment than a simple instantaneous reading.
Designed for Sampling and Permitting Work
With an optional internal motorised pump capable of drawing samples from 30 metres through 1/8-inch tubing, and compatibility with the optional SP6 sampling pump for benzene detection using a PID sensor, the MX6 iBrid is particularly well-suited to permit-to-work sampling and pre-entry testing applications in oil and gas, petrochemical and industrial facilities. Compatible with DSXi Docking Station and iNet Exchange for automated bump testing, calibration, maintenance review and fleet management.

The MX6 iBrid monitors up to 6 gases simultaneously from 24 available sensor options, with hundreds of possible sensor combinations.
Yes. The MX6 iBrid can be configured with an optional SP6 pump and PID sensor using a convertible kit to detect benzene levels during pre-entry screening and permitting work.
No. The catalytic bead sensor requires a minimum of 10% oxygen to provide an accurate reading. In any situation where oxygen reads below 10%, the combustible reading must be considered unreliable. The infrared sensors do not rely on oxygen and function accurately in oxygen-deficient environments, making them the correct choice for inert gas or low-O2 applications.
The optional internal motorised pump is rated to sustain a continuous sample draw from up to 30 metres (100 feet) using 1/8-inch inside diameter sample tubing at 0.5 litres per minute.
O2 sensors typically last 2 years. Toxic sensors average 3 to 4 years. Combustible sensors average 4 to 5 years. Sensors do not need to be replaced before they indicate a marginal or failed calibration in the instrument.
The MX6 iBrid carries Industrial Scientific's Guaranteed for Life warranty. It's warranted for as long as the instrument is supported by Industrial Scientific. Sensor and battery warranties vary by type.
