The ppbRAE 3000+ by Honeywell is one of the most advanced handheld VOC monitors available for parts per billion detection. Parts Per Billion VOC Detection for Demanding Environments
The ppbRAE 3000+ is built for jobs where VOCs need to be measured at very low levels. Hazmat teams, CBRNE responders, civil defence agencies and oil and gas operators use it to detect VOCs from 1 ppb up to 10,000 ppm in a single instrument.
Its third generation patented PID uses a 10.6 eV UV lamp as standard, with a 9.8 eV lamp available as an option. It responds in 3 seconds, with highly accurate linearity across the full range.
Accurate in Real Field Conditions
Integral humidity and temperature sensors compensate automatically for humidity, one of the most common causes of inaccurate PID readings in the field. Reflex PID Technology and patented sensor and lamp autocleaning help keep readings consistent and reduce maintenance.
Built in correction factors for over 200 compounds let the ppbRAE 3000+ give readings for specific compounds, not just total VOCs.
Built for Demanding Field Use
The rugged housing stands up to harsh environments. The large graphic display shows the gas type, correction factor and concentration, and a built in flashlight helps in dark or confined spaces.
The battery, lamp and sensor can be reached without tools, keeping field maintenance quick. The internal pump draws 500 cc/min and samples from up to 30 metres horizontally or vertically, with automatic shut off if flow drops too low.
Wireless and Data
With its optional built in wireless modem, the ppbRAE 3000+ connects to ProRAE Guardian or an EchoView Host, with a typical range of up to 200 metres. Gas readings and alarm status can be monitored from a central command point. A BLE module and dedicated app add enhanced datalogging.
The ppbRAE 3000+ logs six months of data at one minute intervals, and its calibration memory stores settings for up to 8 calibration gases.

The ppbRAE 3000 is the general-purpose ppb VOC monitor in the RAE Systems 3000 series, suited to industrial hygiene, environmental monitoring, CBRNE and hazmat response where broad VOC detection at ppb levels is required. The UltraRAE 3000 is the compound-specific monitor designed primarily for benzene pre-screening in petroleum hydrocarbon environments, using a 9.8 eV lamp with RAE-Sep benzene separator tubes for selective benzene detection. Both detect from the ppb range but they serve different primary applications.
Reflex PID Technology is part of Honeywell's third generation PID design. Together with patented sensor and lamp autocleaning, it helps keep readings consistent and reduces maintenance.
The ppbRAE 3000+ measures benzene as part of its broad VOC reading, and its correction factors can convert the reading to benzene when benzene is the only VOC present. It isn't benzene selective, so it can't separate benzene from other hydrocarbons. For selective benzene measurement, the UltraRAE 3000+ with RAE-Sep tubes is the right instrument.
Optional built-in Mesh Radio connects to ProRAE Guardian with a range of up to 200 m to a RAEMesh Reader or EchoView Host. Optional Bluetooth supports data transmission and instrument configuration via the dedicated mobile app. Both are optional and can be specified at the time of order.
16 hours on the field-replaceable Li-ion battery. 12 hours with the alkaline battery adapter. The battery is replaced without tools in the field.
The 10.6 eV lamp carries a 3-year warranty. The pump, battery and instrument carry a 1-year warranty.
