The UltraRAE 3000+ by Honeywell is one of the most advanced compound specific monitors on the market. It combines a 9.8 eV UV lamp with low cost RAE-Sep tubes for selective benzene and butadiene measurement from 10 ppb to 200 ppm, and measures total VOCs from 0.01 to 10,000 ppm. One of the Most Advanced Compound Specific Monitors on the Market
The UltraRAE 3000+ is built for accurate benzene measurement in petroleum hydrocarbon environments. In a standard VOC reading, benzene is hidden among much higher levels of other hydrocarbons, as found in refineries, tank farms and downstream processing.
The UltraRAE 3000+ solves this by combining a 9.8 eV UV lamp with a RAE-Sep benzene tube. The result is a highly specific reading of benzene, rather than a total VOC figure, with a lower risk of false alarms.
It measures benzene and butadiene from 10 ppb to 200 ppm. Honeywell says this high sensitivity gives a lower detection range, ready for potentially lower benzene exposure limits in future.
Two Benzene Detection Modes
The 60 second snapshot mode gives a quick, discrete reading at a specific sample point. It suits confined space pre entry screening and permit to work sampling, where speed matters.
The 15 minute STEL mode measures benzene continuously over 15 minutes, for short term exposure assessment. Both modes use the same 9.8 eV lamp and RAE-Sep tube.
Total VOC Mode
In VOC mode, the UltraRAE 3000+ measures total VOCs from 0.01 to 10,000 ppm with a 3 second response, and has correction factors for more than 200 compounds built in. The standard 9.8 eV lamp works in both benzene and TVOC modes. Optional 10.6 eV and 11.7 eV lamps extend it to a wider range of VOCs.
Reflex PID Technology and Field Design
Honeywell’s Reflex PID Technology supports reliable lamp performance. A built in humidity sensor and automatic temperature controlled sampling time calculation keep readings accurate as conditions change.
A see through sampling probe shows tube breakthrough at a glance. A built in flashlight helps in dark spaces, and the lamp, sensor and battery are easy to reach for maintenance.
Wireless and Connected
The UltraRAE 3000+ can connect to ProRAE Guardian or an EchoView Host through an optional wireless module, with a typical range of up to 200 m. Gas readings and alarm status can be watched from a central point during shutdowns, maintenance programs and emergency response. Bluetooth is built in for short range data and setup.
