EchoView Host
Wireless Gas Monitor Controller
The EchoView Host by Honeywell is a rugged handheld mini controller at the centre of a closed loop wireless network for RAE Systems portable gas monitors. It receives live gas readings and alarm status from up to eight wireless monitors and shows their call names, readings and alarms on one screen, with no PC, server or fixed infrastructure. With range extendable to over 1 km using Mesh Routers, a 10 day battery, IP65 rating and intrinsic safety certification, it’s built for use in the field.
KEY BENEFITS
- Displays real-time gas readings and alarm status from up to 8 RAE Systems wireless monitors simultaneously on a single screen
- Direct range of up to 200 m, depending on the monitor, extendable to over 1 km with Mesh Routers
- 10-day continuous battery runtime on a single field-replaceable disposable lithium battery
- No PC, server or fixed wireless infrastructure required: fully self-contained closed-loop network
- Bright red high-visibility alarm LEDs and 90 dB audible alarm for immediate alert notification

Closed Loop Wireless Monitoring Without the Infrastructure
Many wireless gas monitoring systems need a server, a PC at a command centre or a fixed Wi-Fi network. The EchoView Host needs none of those. It’s a self contained, handheld controller that forms a closed loop network with up to eight RAE Systems wireless monitors and shows their call names, readings and alarm status on a backlit LCD.
That makes it well suited to emergency response, hazmat work, confined space programs and refinery turnarounds. It’s ideal where there’s no command centre, where the job is temporary, or where the safety officer needs to stay mobile. The whole monitoring setup is carried in one hand.
Real Time Visibility Into the Hot Zone
When workers with compatible RAE Systems wireless monitors enter a hazardous area, such as a wing tank, confined space or refinery vessel, the EchoView Host receives their readings and alarm status continuously.
If any monitor goes into alarm, the EchoView Host alarms straight away, with two super bright red LEDs and a 90 dB buzzer. The safety officer outside the hazard zone sees who is affected, which gas triggered the alarm and the current reading, without waiting for a radio call.
Extended Range With Mesh Routers
Direct range to compatible monitors is typically 100 to 200 m line of sight, depending on the monitor. The EchoView Host reaches a Mesh Router at up to 300 m, and Mesh Routers extend the network to over 1 km. That covers large plants, long vessels, pipelines and spread out outdoor sites.
10 Days of Field Runtime
The EchoView Host runs for 10 days, around the clock, on a field replaceable disposable lithium battery. It’s rated IP65 and certified intrinsically safe for Class I, Division 1, ATEX and IECEx hazardous areas, so it can be used on site, not just in safe areas.
Compatible Monitors
The EchoView Host works with wireless versions of the ToxiRAE Pro range, the MultiRAE family, and the MiniRAE 3000+, ppbRAE 3000+ and UltraRAE 3000+ PIDs. Talk to our Technical Consultants to confirm the right radio version for your monitors.
