iNet Exchange
Gas Detection As A Subscription
iNet Exchange replaces a gas detector before it fails, not after. Each time a monitor is docked, Industrial Scientific checks the state of its sensors, circuit board, microprocessors and pump, and if performance is declining, a replacement is dispatched automatically, typically within 48 hours. Detectors, docking stations, calibration gas, shipping and training are covered by one monthly cost, with no capital outlay and no repair bills.
KEY BENEFITS
- Instruments replaced before they fail rather than repaired after they do
- One fixed monthly cost covering detectors, docks, gas, shipping and support
- No capital outlay, no repair invoices and no surprise freight charges
- Calibration gas replenished automatically, so testing never stops for an empty cylinder
- Damaged instruments traded in rather than written off

Replacement Before Failure, Not Repair After It
This is what separates iNet Exchange from a service contract, and it turns the usual arrangement around.
A detector is docked at the end of a shift. The docking station bump tests, calibrates and charges it, and while that happens, Industrial Scientific looks at the state of the instrument: the sensors, the monitor, the circuit board, the microprocessors and the pump.
If performance is declining, the system flags it and triggers a replacement before the instrument fails. You get an email saying a replacement is on its way, and the box turns up, typically within 48 hours. Swap the instrument, and send the old one back.
There’s no purchase order, no repair job to log, no warranty claim to argue over, and no period without an instrument. Often, the first time anyone knows there was a problem is when the replacement arrives.
The Cost You Can’t See
It’s worth being direct about this, because it’s the argument that decides it, and it’s an uncomfortable one.
Most safety teams can’t say what they spend on gas detector maintenance in a year. The spend is real, but it’s scattered: repairs, replacement parts, calibration gas, freight in both directions, and the staff time spent chasing warranty claims, raising orders and following up instruments that are away being fixed.
None of that appears as a single line item, so it never gets managed. It only becomes visible when something breaks at the wrong moment, and a shift starts with equipment that isn’t fit for purpose.
iNet Exchange turns it into a single, predictable monthly figure. That’s easier to budget, easier to defend, and much easier to compare against what you’re actually spending now.
Calibration Gas Handles Itself
This removes a recurring irritation.
Calibration gas replenishment is part of the subscription. When the docking station detects a cylinder running low, a replacement is shipped automatically, so it arrives before it’s needed.
That matters, because running out of calibration gas stops testing, and an instrument that can’t be bump tested can’t go out. With replenishment handled for you, nobody has to watch stock levels or remember to reorder.
What the Subscription Covers
It’s one monthly figure, and the list is deliberately complete:
Portable gas detectors. Docking stations, either DSXi or DSX-L. Calibration gas. All shipping. Parts. Proactive replacement of declining instruments. Trade in of damaged units. Fleet setup and training. Ongoing technical support.
Access to iNet Control+ comes with it at no additional charge, so the compliance records, reporting and fleet management software are part of the arrangement, not a separate purchase.
There are no repair invoices, no parts charges and no freight bills. If an instrument is covered, it’s covered completely.
Which Instruments
Five Industrial Scientific portables are available on the programme, and all are stocked and supported by Gastech.
| Instrument | Suits |
|---|---|
| Ventis Pro5 | Up to five sensors, with man down alarm, panic button and peer to peer wireless |
| Ventis MX4 | Compact four gas detection for everyday use |
| MX6 iBrid | Up to six sensors, for confined space and complex industrial environments |
| Tango TX1 | Straightforward single gas detection |
| GasBadge Pro | Lightweight clip on monitor for continuous personal monitoring |
A DSXi or DSX-L docking station from the DSX Range is required to run the programme, and is included in the subscription.
It Works at Both Ends of the Scale
A handful of instruments on one site, or hundreds across several. The programme scales either way, and adjusts as the fleet changes, so you pay only for the equipment you need, when you need it.
For a small team, the appeal is usually that nobody has to become the gas detection expert. For a large, spread out fleet, it’s that the logistics disappear.
Paired with a GDFM locker system, iNet Exchange extends to automated issuing, charging and tracking of the whole fleet.
Where It’s Used
Operations without a dedicated instrument technician. Sites where detector downtime stops work. Multi site fleets under one safety programme. Contractors moving between sites. Remote operations where a repair turnaround is measured in weeks. Any organisation that would rather budget a fixed monthly figure than an unpredictable annual one.

No. Calibration gas replenishment is part of the subscription. When a low cylinder is detected, a replacement is shipped automatically, so there's no stock level to watch and no reorder to place.
It can be traded in. Send the damaged unit back, and a working replacement is sent in its place.
Small fleets through to large multi site operations. The programme is tailored to the requirement and adjusts as your fleet changes.
